Passing the Time - Summer 2014

The Season of Sunsets

Once upon a time, there was a lovely little restaurant called Plum Alley in downtown Salt Lake City. Situated in the heart of Salt Lake City's former Chinatown (which was essentially turned into a parking lot in the 1950s), Plum Alley, named for the street it was situated on, had a crowded, quirky vibe of communal tables and cozy decor. Most importantly, they had the best pork buns anywhere east of California. Sadly, it was short lived.

When its successor, Copper Common, announced it was serving Plum Alley's original recipe pork buns for a limited time, we couldn't say no.

Not a morning person, but worth getting up and out the door for
Yes, that's an egg yolk

It wouldn't be brunch without drinks. Copper Common is known for its less typical cocktails, and unfortunately I didn't fully read what mine was before ordering.

I can't vouch for the effectiveness of its "hangover cure" claim as I had not been drinking the night before, but I can say that swallowing a whole egg yolk will wake you up.
