A lot has changed since 2014, but at the time the nearest beer festivals to Salt Lake City were Evanston, WY and Twin Falls, ID. Having already experienced what Evanston had to offer, it was time to pack up and head north.
Twin Falls is roughly a three hour drive from Salt Lake City, which places it number one on my list of longest I've driven for a beer (this isn't taking into account that I drive like a grandma, so it likely took closer to four hours for us to actually get there).
The festival is somehow both small and sprawling. The park it's situated in felt oversized for the event, like they had planned on significantly more people, while simultaneously cramming everything together into one corner of the park.
It was cozy, and there was shade.
The evening was spent recovering at the Applebee's near our hotel.
The city of Twin Falls lives up to its name. The scenic overlook is easy to get to, and well worth the very short detour from the freeway. Just watch out for the statues out there – they will absolutely try and snatch up your wife.
And with that, it was off to our next stop – Craters of the Moon!
